Robina's plantation has existed since 1845. Until it was taken over by Alejandro Robaina Pereda in 1951, the tobacco grown on the farm enjoyed the reputation of the best tobacco leaves in the world. Robinna farm provided tobacco leaves for Cohiba and Hoyo de Monterrey brands. In 1990, the Cuban government named Alejandro Robaina the best tobacco producer in Cuba.
Until 1997, Robina family officially established Cuban cigar brand Vegas Robaina. Vegas Robaina, Cohiba and Trinidad are the three best-selling brands. Vegas Robaina is a mild cigar, with the fragrance of flowers and
hazelnuts, and a rich taste.
